       Ages 12 to 17 Years   

 

 (Cultivating a love for reading and improving literacy                 skills through sports-themed subject matter)

 

Selected Books: Grind (grades 6-8) by  Eric Walters and  Kalifornia Blu (Grades 9-12) by Kendell Shaffer.

Our 2015 Summer Skateboard reading enrichment program was a great success!

 

     

        GLOBAL YOUTH SERVICE DAY

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We cebrated Global Youth Service Day on Saturday,

April 18th and it was a great success. Our theme was

"Stop Gun Violence in Our Communities snd REACH

For PEACE in the HOOD"  We were joined by members

from The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence and

the organizers of The Million Moms March.  Our special

guest was The Honorable John Conyers, representative

for the 13th Congressional District and the first African

American to hold the title "Dean of Congress."
